Low back pain prevention xxxxxx
Goals: To prevent and avoid persistent pain in the lumbar paravertebral muscles.
Benefits of electrostimulation
To prevent low back pain, it is important to strengthen the lumbar paravertebral muscles.
Electrostimulation of the paravertebral muscles is a particularly good way of achieving an increase in strength and endurance. It increases the quantity of work in comparison with voluntary exercises which are often tedious and difficult to carry out.
Explanation and protocol: Running tends to develop principally the musculature of the lower limbs, but does relatively little for the muscles of the trunk and the upper limbs. The repetition of microtraumas caused by each stride on a low back region that is inadequately supported by the muscular corset consisting of the abdominal and lower back muscles can be the cause of low back pain occurring. The Low back pain prevention programme is intended to develop the support qualities of the abdominal and lower back muscles in order to reduce the risk of low back pain occurring in the runner. It is particularly recommended for runners who have already suffered one or more low back pain episodes.
Area of application:
Cycle duration Throughout the sports season
Cycle sequence 2 sessions a week
Position of the body: Seated with the back totally straight
Energy setting: Maximum tolerable
