Overcompensation xxxxxx

Goals: To allow the body to derive maximum benefit from the long training period.

Benefits of electrostimulation Electrostimulation helps to increase blood flow and therefore the capillary network without causing additional muscle fatigue.

Explanation and protocol: The last week before an endurance competition is of fundamental importance to allow the body to recover from the fatigue caused by lengthy preparation and to restore energy reserves to a maximum. This period consists in breaking off the training to maintain at most one or two short jogging sessions and above all to stop imposing any additional fatigue on the body. It is under these conditions that the overcompensation phase will naturally be set up and this will allow the body to draw maximum benefit from the long period of preparation. It should be noted that, during this overcompensation period, training by electrical stimulation with one of the programmes - Endurance Thighs, Endurance Advanced thighs or Endurance Trail thighs, which was used in addition to the standard purposeful training, must be stopped in exactly the same way as the preparation sessions.
Several studies have shown that 4 days of specific stimulation with 2 daily sessions were sufficient to induce growth of the network of small blood vessels (capillaries) in the muscles stimulated. The Overcompensation programme achieves this very beneficial effect for the long distance runner without leading to muscular fatigue.

Area of application:

Cycle duration 4 days

Cycle sequence 2 sessions per day on the last 4 days preceding the target competition

Placement of electrodes:

Position of the body: Adopt the most comfortable position

Energy setting: Gradually increase the stimulation energy until you get very pronounced muscular twitches (sort of large muscle vibrations).
The miRANGE function is a useful aid to ensure you are working in an effective area.
